From track days to races: with the Race Attack is easier than ever

FROM FREE PRACTICES TO RACES: THANKS TO RACE ATTACK IT'S EASY

Today we present the Race Attack, the entry category in the world of competitions present within the MotoEstate Trophies, technical partner of proveliberemoto.it

The Race Attack is one of the most successful categories of the MotoEstate Trophies. It was introduced in 2014 and today boasts a proven and successful competition format. The category is open to 600 and 1000 cc motorcycles, with separate starts and classifications and is specifically designed to be the entry step into the world of racing for all those riders who usually take to the track during free practice days . In fact, many riders over the years have lived this path, realizing the dream of running real races within a national competition and without mortgaging the house.

RACE PROGRAM

The race attack race program is streamlined and is spread over two days during the weekend: Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday mornings, optional and paid free practice sessions are made available, with the participants divided according to the engine capacity of the motorcycles. The official program instead begins in the afternoon with the first qualifying session. A second session is also scheduled for Sunday morning, while the races start from late Sunday morning. During the five championship rounds scheduled for 2023 (find out the calendar here) the Race Attack riders face a double sprint race, Superbike style. This is to allow all the participating pilots to express themselves at their best, without putting too much physical strain. At the end of the second round of the race, the awards will take place. Those with time and work problems could also reach the circuit on Sunday, just as if it were a free practice. However, unlike this, the safety that is guaranteed during a race weekend within a nationally titled event such as the MES is decidedly greater, thanks to the presence at the racetrack of a highly qualified race and medical management.

The double start has always given great emotions, especially to rookie drivers, for whom dedicated rankings are envisaged.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

To participate in the Race Attack it is sufficient to have a speed license (which costs 150 euros per year plus a MotoClub card). The category is then open to ALL riders, provided they do not have past experience in national competitions, as indicated in the sporting regulations. In fact, the objective is to ensure grids with a balanced technical level.

The technical regulation is free, each rider is free to use the bike at his disposal. The only limit is the cylinder capacity. Faired and naked motorcycles built from 2000 onwards can race in the Race Attack 600 with the following characteristics: 2 cylinders with displacement over 401cc up to 850cc, 3 cylinders with displacement over 401cc up to 675cc, 4 cylinders with displacement over 401cc up to 636cc.

In the Race Attack 1000, on the other hand, faired and naked motorcycles built after 2000 are allowed with the following characteristics: 2 cylinders and displacement up to 1300cc, 3 cylinders from 675 to 1300 cc, 4 cylinders and displacement up to 1200cc.

DUNLOP TIRES

Both classes (600 and 1000) run under Dunlop mono-rubber, with the high-performance GP Racer D212 compound M. This is to guarantee equal technical conditions and enhance the performance and ability of each rider and, at the same time, calm the costs. On the track there is an obligation to purchase a set of tyres. During a race weekend it is possible to use a maximum of two sets of tires which are punched by applying stickers.

REGISTRATIONS

Registration for the championship costs 500 euros and allows you to receive a rich welcome kit, a fixed number and the score for the final classification. Registration for the individual races costs 350 euros (for each of the two rounds scheduled in Cremona) and 250 euros (for each of the rounds in Varano and Magione). There is also the possibility of participating in the individual races as wild cards, who will have to pay a registration fee for the individual rounds, increased by 120 euros.
